How to Volunteer

In these challenging times, we invite individuals to join our virtual volunteering efforts, dedicated to making a positive impact on the lives of our hospitalized kids. By contributing your time and skills remotely, you can help create a meaningful difference in your community.

  1. To become a volunteer, please fill out the form below. Please know that you are not obligated to complete a minimum number of submissions as a volunteer. We are grateful for any contribution.
  2. Once you have signed up as a volunteer, you will receive a confirmation email.
  3. Now you can create submissions. Every time you finish a submission, send it to us by email (info@kidsorg.ca). We will reply to your email to confirm that we have received your submission and the number of service hours your submission(s) is worth.
  4. Now you may create more submissions and repeat steps 3 and 4.
  5. When you require your total logged volunteer hours with KidsOrg, send us an email, and you will receive a verification letter with your name and your completed hours, as well as the information needed to fill out your volunteer hours form.

Submissions

You may submit letters, cards, poems, short stories, music and artwork virtually. You may write letters and cards that are handwritten or created online. If you would like to submit a handwritten letter or card, either scan or take a good quality picture of your work. Letters cannot exceed 1 page. of Similarly, you may also take a picture of your artwork and send these submissions by email. You can also send musical video submissions of singing, playing an instrument, or both! Please make sure you introduce yourself before you start singing/playing.

Here are the general guidelines for hours per submission:

~ 1 page letter: 1 hour

~ Artwork: 1-3 hours

~ Card: 0.5-1 hour

~ Musical submissions: 0.5-1 hour

~Poem: 1 hour

~Short story: 1 hour
